A conference on the plant completion, attended by Governor of the Kurgan Region Oleg Bogomolov, was held at the Kurgan HPP-2 site. The meeting involved the plant executives, representatives of General Contractor “Intertechelectro” and a number of other contractors.

Before the conference the participants made a technical tour of the site, inspecting the site facilities and the power house equipment.

At the conference General Director of “Intertechelectro” Vladimir Babyak reported on the Kurgan HPP-2 construction status and presented the plant commissioning and startup schedule. He pointed out that the civil construction work had been completed, the heating main was in place, installation of the gas pipeline had been completed, the site improvement works as well as installation and commissioning of the main equipment were in progress. “The gas-turbine commissioning is carried out under the GE supervision”, said Vladimir Babyak, - “within a month or two the gas turbine will be ready for the first fire. To date about 400 people are involved in the on-site works”.

Summing up the conference results, Governor Oleg Bogomolov concluded: “The work at HPP-2 is underway, the degree of readiness is high, there have been no contingencies reported. Process-wise the plant commissioning is a rather complex procedure that requires additional time. However, if required, as early as this December the plant will be able to supply heat to the city”.
