18 May 2011
The progress meeting with participation of the Governor and representatives of the Kurgan region government took place at the Kurgan HPP-2site.
The participants overviewed the construction progress. Now, the gas and steam turbines with the load gears and generators are put on the foundations in the main building, auxiliary equipment bundling is in progress. The HRSGs semi-modules, HP and LP drums are mounted in the boiler room, hot water boilers and water chemical treatment system process equipment are installed; fume stacks, circulating and coast pumping stations, gas treatment station and piping stack are being built, 110 kV open switchgear equipment is being installed. Plant heat power distribution scheme was built involving 7.4 km main pipeline routing and its connecting to the existing heat tracing.
Summing up the meeting, Oleg Bogomolov said: «For the last 5-6 years we had no serious problems in electric and heat power supply although the risks were extremely high. Moreover, without putting the HPP-2 in operation we couldn’t deal with new construction in the Zaozyornyi housing complex. Now the HPP-2 building is coming to an end». Besides, Oleg Bogomolov stressed that the investors will connect free of charge to heat systems of the HPP-2 after its putting in service.
The Kurgan HPP-2 will comprise 2 power units, 111 MW each. Each power unit consists of the General Electric 76 MW PG 6111FA gas turbine, Siemens 35 MW SST-400 steam cogeneration turbine and HRSG. The HPP installed electric output is 222 MW, the heat power being 250 Gcal/h. The Kurgan HPP-2 construction will allow improving the Kurgan region power supply and provide conditions for social and economic development of the city and region.
