Fume stacks’ installation is in progress at Kurgan HPP-2
25 October 2010
Fume stacks’ erection is launched at the Kurgan HPP-2. Totally, the plant will have 3 stacks, 45 meters each.
At present gas ducts and draft equipment are being installed, fume stacks’ erection will be finished in November 2010.
Now, the gas and steam turbines with the load gears and generators are put on the foundations in the main building, auxiliary equipment bundling is in progress. The HRSGs semi-modules are mounted in the boiler room, hot water boilers are installed and hydraulically tested, fan cooling tower is constructed, circulating and coast pumping stations, gas treatment station, piping stack are being built. 110 kV open switchgear is being assembled, power transformers are installed according to the design. Buildings containing 6 and 0.4 kV switchgears, 1st and 2nd units’ rechargeable batteries and relay control board are being constructed. Plant heat power distribution scheme is being built involving 7.4 km main pipeline routing and its connecting to the existing heat tracing.
The Kurgan HPP-2 will comprise 2 power units, 111 MW each. Each power unit consists of the General Electric 76 MW PG 6111FA gas turbine, Siemens 35 MW SST-400 steam cogeneration turbine and HRSG. The HPP installed electric output is 222 MW, the heat power being 250 Gcal/h. The Kurgan HPP-2 construction will allow improving the Kurgan region power supply and provide conditions for social and economic development of the city and region.
The HPP hot water boiler house will be built in 2010. Before the plant putting in operation it will function as a back-up peak boiler house and will operate only in case of serious ambient temperature decrease. Besides, the boiler house will be a reserve one for the town part receiving heat power from the Kurgan HPP-1. The HPP-2 will be put in operation in full in 2011.
