Kurgan HPP-2 turbines’ compressors testing is complete
06 April 2010
At the ČKD NOVÉ ENERGO plant in Prague (Czech Republic) the gas turbines’ compressors of the Kurgan HPP-2 have been manufactured and tested. In the near future the compressors will be shipped to the site.
Plant testing included inspection of general technical condition and vibration characteristics. The machines were run at maximum speed of 23,650.00 rpm. Different work steps involved measurements of the bearings’ vibration and temperature. The testing results showed full compliance of the compressors’ performance data to prescribed regulations.
The compressors are designated to increase gas pressure when delivered to the gas turbine. Three 4RSA22 radial-flow compressors, output being 29,000.00 m³/h, will be installed at the Kurgan HPP-2. At present they are prepared for shipment to the site. The Kurgan HPP-2 will comprise 2 power units, 111 MW each. Each power unit consists of the General Electric 76 MW PG 6111FA gas turbine, Siemens 35 MW SST-400 steam cogeneration turbine and HRSG.
The HPP installed electric output is 222 MW, heat power being 250 Gcal/h. The Kurgan HPP-2 construction will allow improving the Kurgan region power supply, covering by more than 40% the existing power deficit and provide conditions for social and economic development of the city and region.
