The Kurgan CHPP-2 construction project is acknowledged «investment project of the year» under Award «Year results of Urals and Siberia– 2009».

The «Year results of Urals and Siberia– 2009» Award is held in Yekaterinburg under support of Administration of Plenipotentiary representative of the RF President in the Urals federal district. Its main goal is to determine and reward the politicians and businessmen of the seven Urals federal district regions whose work was exceptionally successful this year. The award is organized by the expert information channel «UralPolit.Ru», magazine for managers «National Business» and Urals district TV company «Ermak».

Six research companies and more than 400 experts took part in determination of the Award winners. Following their working results, the jury formed a list of the candidates qualifying for awards on 20 categories in business and economics. Prizes on 15 special nominations were handed out as well.

The Kurgan CHPP-2 will comprise 2 power units, 111 MW each. Each power unit consists of the General Electric 76 MW PG 6111FA gas turbine, Siemens 35 MW SST-400 steam cogeneration turbine and HRSG. The CHPP installed electric output is 222 MW, heat power being 250 Gcal/h. The Kurgan CHPP-2 construction will allow considerably improving the Kurgan region power supply and provide conditions for social and economic development of the city and region.
