Environmental Specifications of Kurgan <nobr>HPP-2</nobr> Meet All Requirements of Effective Statutes, Regulations, and Practices

This conclusion has been made by experts of the Tyumen State University Research Laboratory for Ecology and Rational Use of Natural Resources. They have studied an environmental impact of the new facility on the environment. The results of these studies were promulgated at a public hearing held in Kurgan. Representatives for non-governmental, environmental, and veteran organizations, power authorities, energy companies, and mass media were present at the hearing.

Alexander Kogan, Director General of <nobr>Intertechelectro-New</nobr> Generation LLC, Will Take Part in Signing Ceremony of Agreement between OJSC RAO UES of Russia and Administration of Kurgan Region towards Implementation of Activities to Improve Relia

The Agreement provides for the implementation of a list of first priority steps until 2011 to construct and renovate electric power generation capacity in order to prevent any power deficit and improve reliability of power supplies to consumers of Kurgan Region.

New Combined Cycle HPP Construction Project by <nobr>Intertechelectro-New</nobr> Generation LLC at Kurgan Was Presented to Deputies of the Kurgan Regional Duma

The construction of a new power station was considered in the context of amendments to be made to the Regional Energy Program. The Program is based on the construction of new generating facilities in order to improve energy security of the Region. According to Anatoly Bogdanov, Deputy Governor of Kurgan Region, the construction of a new HPP was intended to remove a power generation deficit problem in the Region.

Kurgan HPP Will Improve Reliability of Thermal and Electric Power Supplies to Kurgan

The Town of Kurgan will see a HPP based on a combined cycle using gas turbines from major international manufacturers. The facility will be constructed pursuant to the decree by Governor of Kurgan Region concerning the development of regional generating capacity. The integrated implementation of the project to design, construct, and operate the HPP is the responsibility of Intertechelectro-New Generation LLC.
