A conference, attended by Governor Bogomolov and all the contractors involved was held at Kurgan CHP-2

A conference on the project progress, attended by Governor of the Kurgan region Oleg Bogomolov, was held at Kurgan CHP-2. The conference participants included representatives of the regional government, contractors and equipment suppliers.

Director of LLC “Intertechelectro – New Generation” Stanislav Karapetyan reported on the readiness of the off-site engineering infrastructure facilities. To date the construction of the main and standby gas pipelines has been completed. All the approvals, required to use gas as the main fuel in the calculated amount of 417mln.m3/y, have been obtained. A long-term gas supply agreement has been signed. Over 80 per cent of the operating personnel have been recruited.

General Director of CJSC “Intertechelectro” Vladimir Babyak made a report on the progress of the CHP-2 preparation for startup. A number of the gas turbine starts have been carried out with the load increase and delivery of electrical power to the power grid. The waste heat recovery boiler has undergone treatment by chelamine. The hot water boiler house is ready for service. Preparations for the steam turbine start are in progress.

Finishing works have been completed in the power house. The interconnected control panel has been put in place. Construction and installation works on the gas treatment plant have been completed; the gas booster compressors have been installed. The circulating pumping station, the make-up water pumping station and the cooling tower have been built. The administrative and amenity building has been built; exterior and interior finishing works on the building are nearing completion. The communication, CCTV and security lines have been laid. The site improvement works are underway.

Summing up the conference results, Governor Oleg Bogomolov concluded: “An enormous amount of work has been accomplished at the power plant. We are in the final stage of the facility construction; we need to address all the outstanding issues in the shortest time possible and prepare the power plant for start-up”. The power plant management and the Department of industry, transport, communications and energy will submit to the Governor weekly reports on the progress of the CHP commissioning.
