The Kurgan HPP-2 construction is a unique example of state-private partnership involving foreign investors and biggest global equipment manufacturers.
Putting the Kurgan HPP-2, the 2nd big Kurgan power source, in operation in the 4th quarter of 2011 will allow improving the region power supply, reducing by more than 40% the existing power deficit and solve the power supply tariff stabilization issue. Combined-cycle application will decrease hazardous emissions to the atmosphere.
The power plant construction project implementation is the first step of a large-scale modernization program related to the region power system in which Intertechelectro-New Generation will be one of the most active participants. The next stage of the program involves reconstruction and update of boiler houses in 24 districts of the Kurgan region.
