Renata Astrid Schimkoreit, general counsel of German Federal Republic in Yekaterinburg, and Hans Jurgen Wio, Siemens-Russia and Central Asia vice-president, have visited the Kurgan HPP-2 site under the German delegation trip to the Kurgan region.
Narkis Galiaskarov, executive director of the power plant, made an excursion for the guests. The delegation members visited the main building and observed installation of the major equipment. As of today, the Siemens 35 MW SST-400 steam cogeneration turbine with the load gear is already on the foundation.
Renata Schimkoreit pointed out significance of the power plant construction for the Kurgan region that is experiencing electricity shortages. She said that a lot of German companies are interested in collaboration with the region as for energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. The delegation members believe that such projects as the Kurgan HPP-2 are long-range ones.
Hans Jurgen Wio, Siemens vice-president, stressed: «I’m really surprised with accuracy and construction speed of the power plant. The construction process makes a good showing. We had a look at the equipment and I’m flattered that the Siemens turbines are installed at the station. Here I saw a fine range of the Russian and foreign machinery that Intertechelectro-New Generation purchased”. Hans Jurgen Wio also said that upon energy efficiency law adoption, the very need in CCGT facilities such as the Kurgan HPP-2 will increase.
Having got acquainted with the Kurgan companies’ activity, the delegation participated in panel discussion in the Kurgan region government dedicated to power efficiency and energy saving.
