The 2nd Kurgan CHPP-2 project Siemens steam turbine has been delivered to site
20 January 2010
The 2nd Siemens SST-400 steam turbine for the Kurgan CHPP-2 has been delivered to the site. The power plant steam and gas turbines will be installed on foundations in the near future.
The Kurgan CHPP-2 steam turbine was shipped from the Siemens factory in Brno and delivered to Saint-Petersburg by sea via Lubec. The turbine weighing 80 tons was transported by railway to the site. The 35 MW Siemens SST-400 steam turbine is a single cylinder one and equipped with a load gear designed to be used as generators drive. SST-400 is distinguished by high reliability and efficiency, compactness and simple maintenance.
At present the wall panels and roof of the main building are installed and heat is supplied there, the foundations of the steam turbines and 1st gas turbine are ready, the 2nd gas turbine foundation building is coming to end. The turbines will ne mounted on the foundations in the near future. The administrative and auxiliary buildings structural steel is mounted, casing is in process. The water heating boilers frames are being installed. Earthwork operations on fan cooling tower pool construction are completed, the pool is being concreted.
The Kurgan CHPP-2 will comprise 2 power units, 111 MW each. Each power unit consists of the General Electric 76 MW PG 6111FA gas turbine, Siemens 35 MW SST-400 steam cogeneration turbine and HRSG. The CHPP installed electric output is 222 MW, heat power being 250 Gcal/h. The Kurgan CHPP-2 construction will allow considerably improving the Kurgan region power supply and provide conditions for social and economic development of the city and region.
