Bridge crane installation has been launched on the Kurgan CHPP-2
21 October 2009
The crane with lifting capacity of 80 tons and bridge width of 34 meters is manufactured by OJSC «Baltkran» (city of Kaliningrad) and designed for relocation and installation of the power plant major and auxiliary equipment, materials and consumables. It is equipped with modern frequency control system that allows variable regulating of main hoist mechanisms speeds, bridge and load trolley motion what will contribute to position loads more precisely and exclude their swinging. Two such cranes will be erected in the Kurgan CHPP-2 turbine hall. Besides, OJSC «Baltkran» will supply to the Kurgan site a double-cantilever gantry crane, lifting capacity being 12.5 tons, to execute cargo-handling operations on the site.
The Kurgan CHPP-2 will comprise 2 power units, 111 MW each. Each power unit consists of the General Electric 76 MW PG 6111FA gas turbine, Siemens 35 MW SST-400 steam cogeneration turbine and HRSG. The CHPP installed electric output is 222 MW, heat power being 250 Gcal/h. The Kurgan CHPP-2 construction will allow improving the Kurgan region power supply and provide conditions for social and economic development of the city and region.
