Mobile staff meeting on Kurgan CHPP-2 construction has been held

The meeting was visited by Mr. Oleg Bogomolov, governor of the Kurgan region, representatives of the Kurgan region government, LLC «Intertechelectro-New Generation», Czech export bank, EGAP insurance company, PSG-International (EPC contractor), Bureau Veritas certification company.

During the meeting the participants got acquainted with the CHPP construction procedure. At present the main building foundation is completed, the 1st steam turbine, gas turbine and water heating boilers foundations are grouted, the 2nd steam turbine foundation casing is prepared. To date the main building roof and steel structures are being installed, administrative and on-site facilities foundation is being arranged. The cooling tower pool construction was launched. The participants discussed development and issuance of design documentation, project expertise, power plant required infrastructure, equipment delivery to site.

Summing up the mobile staff meeting, Mr. Oleg Bogomolov said: «The 188,000,000.00 Euro loan granted by Czech export bank did the CHPP-2 construction one of the biggest investment projects in the region. Now the project is in the state-of-the-practice stage, all the issues can be solved on this construction phase». As Mr. Bogomolov stressed, all the process participants are oriented to goal achievement and are sure to solve this task together.

Mr. Artyom Bikov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of LLC “ Intertechelectro-New Generation” said that despite economic volatility, the 1st loan tranche on power plant construction was given last year and this confirms the Czech export bank confidence in successful project implementation. As Mr. Bikov said, the company has all-round assistance and support from the Kurgan region government under the project execution.

Mr. Jaroslav Porjiz, Director of the Czech export bank Russian branch, pointed out significance of the new CHPP construction project implementation: «It’s important in great for Czech export bank to support such infrastructure development projects in Russia. We have a 15 year projects support experience in your country. I consider very efficient our partnership with the Kurgan region government, Russian colleagues and suppliers».

As Mr. Jiri Horacek («Power» division director of PSG International a.s., Kurgan CHPP-2 general contractor) said, all the dates on delivery of materials and equipment are kept.

The Kurgan CHPP-2 will comprise 2 power units, 111 MW each. Each power unit consists of the General Electric 76 MW PG 6111FA gas turbine, Siemens 35 MW SST-400 steam cogeneration turbine and HRSG. The CHPP installed electric output is 222 MW, heat power being 250 Gcal/h. The Kurgan CHPP-2 construction will allow improving the Kurgan region power supply, covering by more than 40% the existing power deficit and provide conditions for social and economic development of the city and region.
